12 World Space Week Westbound Transatlantic Crossing 2 October 2020 u M032 Cunard is delighted to offer an opportunity to celebrate World Space Week, with its special space-themed Transatlantic Crossing. Acclaimed speakers from the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, aerospace, and astronautics, will be sailing with us presenting and discussing all aspects of space and its exploration. In addition to new space shows in the world’s largest Planetarium at Sea, anyone who has enjoyed a clear night mid-Atlantic will attest to Queen Mary 2 being the perfect venue to stargaze – away from light and air pollution. In 2020, our fourth annual space-themed Transatlantic Crossing will celebrate Women in Space, highlighting the exceptional talents of some of the world’s leading female space experts. Anthony Inglis and the National Symphony Orchestra Westbound Transatlantic Crossing 4 September 2020 u M028 A regular favourite in the Cunard calendar, the UK’s National Symphony Orchestra joins Queen Mary 2 for the wonderful Last Night of the Cunard Proms in 2020. We also welcome back Anthony Inglis who will continue to conduct on this special Transatlantic Crossing. On this crossing, guests will be treated to two spectacular performances in the Royal Court Theatre – an evening of American themed numbers, and the Last Night of the Cunard Proms. There will be an opportunity to audition for the choir and practice under the guidance of the NSO, ready for a group performance during the evening’s show. There will also be a Q&A session with the eclectic Mr Inglis himself. Anthony Inglis Literature Festival at Sea In association with Cheltenham Literature Festival, The Times and The Sunday Times. Westbound Transatlantic Crossing 1 December 2020 u M039 The Literature Festival at Sea will be returning for its second year and Queen Mary 2 will provide the perfect setting for this seven-day programme of literary events, tastefully adorned for the festive season. You will be joined on board by some of the worlds’ best novelists, historians, poets, and critics, including Ian Rankin, Kate Mosse, Greg Mosse, Alan Johnson, and editor of The Times’ Red Box, Matt Chorley. With bookish delights around every corner, it promises to be an incredible journey.
